In Kabul the first street exhibitions of books and a showcase of traditional costumes were held

In different areas of Kabul for the first time the first street exhibitions of books and showcase of costumes were held as was informed recently by the Afghani news TV channel TOLO news.
So, the first street display of clothes took place in the centre of Kabul. About 30 Afghani young men and girls within for an hour showed traditional Afghani costumes and fashionable trends in national style.
Organizers of the show say that they try to make tendencies of modern fashion of the Afghani costumes more accessible to the general public, having changed the venue of such shows from halls and restaurants to streets and other open air public places. And it is already a good sign speaking about changing social moods and expectations.
Soon the youth plans to hold the second street display of clothes in Herat, and then to move to other provinces. Despite security threats in Kabul, these young men today came out onto red carpet runners and showed a collection of the festive costumes created in traditions of different provinces of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
From 30 young models five are girls who say that they make all round efforts to destroy stereotypes. It is not only difficult, but is even somehow risky. «In our hearts there is a fear, but we ask the government to help us freely to move forward». «Our work has a cultural character, - organizer Ajmal Hakiki said. - In it there is a message of peace and a call for trust».
And in other part of Kabul there was held the first street exhibition of books under the slogan «Books create peace and say « no" to war". Two publishing houses presented 6 thousand books. Organizers of the exhibition say that it is a symbolical contribution to the peace-making processes in the country.
«While we do not take a book in hands and we do not read it, yet we do not recognise it as our guide, we cannot reach relative peace - not to mention permanent peace! » - Shahed Farhush, one of organizers of the given exhibition says.
