February concerts: Ashgabat will pore over romantic melodies

Ashgabat is called the “city of love”, that has quite semantic grounds, because the first half of the name of the Turkmen capital – “ashk”, refers to the old translation of this word as “love”, and “Abad” – the city. Inspired by the upcoming spring, Ashgabat creative teams and their leaders, as if concerting, decided to please the audience with a marathon of concerts of romantic music in dedication to the strongest and brightest feeling.
The musical program “Dreams of love”, prepared by the “Inspiration” chamber orchestra under the direction of Dovlet Okdirov, invites to spend the evening of February 13 in the Vatan Concert Hall. The young musicians painstakingly selected the concert repertoire so that each listener could feel the atmosphere of spring bliss, when the first flowers bloom and life awakens with a new force.
Leyli Okdirova, the owner of a coloratura soprano will perform at the party. The singer will perform songs by Kazakh composer Latyf Hamidi – “Nightingale” and “Kazakh waltz”, as well as please the audience with a performance of the Italian hit “Senza fine” (Infinitely) by composer Gino Paoli.
“Music always accompanies the hearts of lovers – in the movie, on the stage of the theater and in life. Not to mention composers who mostly draw inspiration from deep feelings. Love is in everything that surrounds us, so the concert program “Dreams of love” is a selection of the most romantic musical works,” says Dovlet Okdirov.
Young singer Yagshigul Omarova will also adorn the concert evening. She will perform compositions, based on poems by the Turkmen poet, melodies to which were written by Alisher Bazarov. The graduate of the Lebap Music School is currently the second-year student of the Turkmen National Conservatory.
“I was born in Lebap, where love to the poet Halil Kuliyev’s work is great. I have an old collection of his poems. Rereading the poet’s lyrics, I always enjoy the ease of his philosophical language, so I decided to write music for voice and piano for two of my favorite poems – “Unspoken words” and “I’m in love with you”. My course-mate, conductor Dovlet Okdirov, who offered to participate in the concert, helped to arrange the melody into the orchestral parts. I hope the audience will appreciate our joint work,” says Alisher.
The romantic extravaganza will also take place in the evening of February 15 on the stage of the Oil-and-Gas Cultural Center, where a concert of the chamber orchestra, conducted by Rasul Klychev will take place. The music program is called “About love”.
Concert’s guests will find dialogues from romantic films, poems about love, and well-known melodies will serve as the leitmotif for them. Soloists Nury Nuryev, Leyli Okdirova and Maisa Niyazova will perform timeless hits.
“When Rasul Klychev invites to work with him, there can be only one answer – Yes! – exclaims Maisa Niyazova. – This is not the first year we have been working with Rasul, and it is really a great honor for me. Each of his concerts corresponds to a specific theme, and is on a high professional level. This time I will sing some songs about love and in the name of love. Is it any use choosing a certain day to love? This feeling always accompanies us, and if there is an opportunity for a holiday, then you should celebrate it by 150%.”
