Cooperation with Turkmen media was discussed at the Austria Press Agency

Silap Nurberdyev, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Austria, and Neda Berger, president of Austrian-Turkmen society, visited the head office of the Austria Press Agency (APA) in Vienna, where a meeting with Karina Tiller, APA Director General, and Bernard Sontag, APA Board Referent, was held. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the media coverage of events in line of the 25th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan. In particular, the agenda included discussion of such topics as a round table that is scheduled to be held on February 26 at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Austria, which are planned to be held on April 23, and the International High-Level Conference on the role of Turkmenistan’s neutrality in provision of global peace and security that is scheduled to be held on December 12 this year in Ashgabat. Neda Berger informed Austrian journalists about the history of the creation of the Austrian-Turkmen society that chaired by her and the Galkynysh Turkmen-Austrian Symphony Orchestra, the unique joint music collective in Europe, which was founded in May 2009 with the support and under the patronage of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. She also told about four Vienna Balls that were held in Ashgabat and the Austrian-Turkmen journal Galkynysh. Ms.Berger paid special attention to the development of media partnerships, including news online resources. Meanwhile, on August 15, 2019 in Ashgabat, a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of exchange of news materials was signed between the Media-Turkmen News Agency and the Austrian-Turkmen Society. Further, on September 4, 2019, as Honorary Advisor to Media-Turkmen News Agency, was accredited by the Austrian Chancellor’s press service as an ORIENT foreign correspondent. She added that on January 10, 2020, at a meeting of the Austrian-Turkmen society, it was decided to create a Media Advisory Council in Vienna with the participation of the Turkmen and Austrian media. Ms.Berger invited the APA Director General to participate in the work of this Council. The Austria Press Agency (German: Austria Presse Agentur, APA) is the largest national news and press agency in Austria, based in Vienna. It is owned by Austrian daily newspapers and the national broadcaster ORF. It has branches in all federal states of Austria.
