The trio of “heavy trucks”: the crews of MAZ and KAMAZ are on the podium of the Amul-Hazar 2018 Rally


Amul-Hazar 2018 rally is finished and the winners in heavy trucks class are awarded. At the top of the podium – the Belarusian MAZ of Sergey Vyazovich, Pavel Haranin and Andrey Zhihulin.
The Belarusian crew was not only the fastest in T4 trucks category, but also in the Top-3 in overall standings. Belarusian MAZ crew is on the third place in final ranking. It took them 15 hours 14 minutes to pass all 5 legs of Amul-Hazar 2018 rally, a one and a half hour behind Nani Roma.
Russian KAMAZ team of Ayrat Mardeyev is the silver winner, and another KAMAZ crew piloted by Dmitry Sotnikov is the bronze winner in heavy trucks category. Two teams in similar blue sports suit, who were driving the same brand trucks, spent the same time for the whole race distance – from Turkmenabat to Avaza – 15 hours 34 minutes.
Another Belarusian MAZ, piloted by Alexey Vishnevsky was a one-step away the pedestal. Belarusian – Turkmen team composed of the pilot Alexander Vasilevsky, the navigator Dmitry Vikhrenko and the mechanic Begnazar Nuryagdiyev are behind the MAZ of Alexey Vishnevsky in overall standings.
On the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea, the awarding ceremony of the winners of the Karakum Desert race was followed by a parade of cars of participants of the eco-rally-raid. The crews of the cars that participated in the race outside the competition participated also.
One after one, the crews drove on a specially erected podium with an arch in their vehicles flying their flags and greeting the public. Every pilot and navigator received memorable gift and souvenirs – symbols of the Great Silk Road, along which the rally-raid took place.
