Starting from August 1, a foreigner is to pay USD 2.00 per each day of staying in Turkmenistan
The State Committee for Tourism of Turkmenistan will receive additional funds for the development of the sphere of tourism and entertainment – starting from August 1, each foreigner has to pay USD 2.00 per each day of staying in Turkmenistan. The tourism fee will be charged in accordance with the Resolution signed by the President of Turkmenistan during an enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on the results of the country development in January – June, 2017. The tourism industry in Turkmenistan has started developing in spite of a great number of historical, architectural and natural monuments, comfortable hotels, original cuisine, exotic places and many other sights. It is worth seeing the legendary «Plateau of the Dinosaurs» in the Koytendag Mountains with over 3,000 well preserved dinosaur tracks. Moreover, scientists discovered the fossilized "human" footprints. The age of the footprints that are almost of shoe size 43 is at least 150-200 million years old. Those who prefer extreme touris can visit the Gates of Hell - a burning gas crater 60 metres in diameter at the depth of about 20 metres.
