The Turkmen crew on the car numbered 100 came first to the finish line of the initial stage of the rally "Amul-Hazar 2018", the program "Vatan" of the Turkmen State Television and Radio reported.
The first stage of the race in the Karakum desert started in the city of Turkmenabat and finished in the Mary region, not far from the administrative-territorial border with Lebap.
The participants of the rally crossed 247 kilometers of the route, most of which consisted of hot Karakum sand. Tomorrow they will have to go to the bivouac, installed near the famous landmark of the Turkmen desert - the gas crater "The Glow of Karakum".
On the second day, the riders will have to overcome 228 kilometers of track. Drivers will face several sections of the track with dunes, which will further complicate the race.
