Cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko congratulated the President and the people of Turkmenistan
Pilot-cosmonaut of the Russian Federation, Hero of Turkmenistan Oleg Kononenko congratulated the Turkmen people on the New Year, sending a festive message, addressed to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. In his congratulation, the cosmonaut notes that he has no doubt that 2020 year will bring new accomplishments and achievements to Turkmenistan and strengthen an authority of the state on the world stage. The most important event of the year will be the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality, which embodies the country’s peacefulness and openness to international cooperation. Today the principles and ideals of Turkmen neutrality are particularly in demand for sustainable development and security on the entire mother Earth, Kononenko emphasized. One of the brightest, most significant moments of the outgoing year for himself, he called the awarding a rank Hero of Turkmenistan and handling the “Altyn ai” gold medal. “This high award is a symbol of my indissoluble connection with the Motherland, where I spent my childhood and youth”, - wrote Oleg Kononenko. According to the famous native of Turkmenistan, he has special feelings to the Turkmen people – sincere, open, friendly and very hospitable, and is proud of the country’s progress.
