One of the world's largest oil companies, Rosneft, has expressed a desire to take part in the transportation of Central Asian and Iranian oil to the global hydrocarbon market. This statement was made by the Head of the company Igor Sechin at the Eurasian Economic Forum. He stressed that Rosneft would like not only to take part in the search and extraction of “black gold”, but also organize its transportation from Central Asia and Iran to the global oil market. According to the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, in 2016 the State Concern Turkmenneft produced (excluding foreign companies operating in the country) 4749.9 thousand tons of oil. In accordance with the Program of social and economic development of Turkmenistan, adopted at the beginning of October at the Council of Elders, investments in the volume of about 160 billion manat will be directed to the fuel and energy complex in the next 7 years and about 7,000 new jobs will be created in the industry that will help increase hydrocarbon production.
