"Amul-Khazar 2018" teams check the technical readiness of cars
There is very little time left before the start of the race "Amul-Khazar 2018". In the prelaunch zone in Turkmenabat, there is now a revival: a cluster of different machines and people. But everything happens without fuss, in a business-like manner, according to regulations, is a technical day.
Those arriving at the competition are registered; cars go through mandatory technical inspection, first of all, for safety for the crew members.
The mood at all is rather upbeat-festive, than disturbingly-intense. Someone from the riders with joyful exclamations and embraces meets old acquaintances on the races, others with interest communicate with new friends, ask about something of volunteers, talk with the staff, exchange impressions, do selfies. Someone is stocked with drinking water - now it is around in abundance, but those who participated in the "Dakar" know what water means in the desert…
The eastern Lebap market, which has become a "theater" of prelaunch operations, resembles a real caravan-sarai that accepts travelers who have come here from afar.
Only instead of camels and horses here one can see colored brutal ATVs, luxury sport cars and powerful trucks, as well as various equipment, carrying spare parts, tools, equipment for broadband communication, broadcasting, etc..
Work is boiling everywhere. Territory is delimited by sector, responsibilities are clearly distributed and uniformly it is easy to understand who to contact on a particular issue.
The maximum of conveniences is created so that pilots and navigators are not distracted by minor procedures and can concentrate on the forthcoming race.
By the same principle, work is organized on bivouacs, four which are equipped on the road.
Well, in the meantime, no less thorough preparation is being made at this time on the site of the official opening ceremony of the rally "Amul-Khazar 2018", which will take place on the evening of September 10.
The opening ceremony will be held on the Flag Square, where a 100-meter flagpole with a Turkmen flag was installed. There are mounted scenes, a tribune, huge monitors and a special podium, which will ride through the parade along which participants of the races. It is expected that President Berdimuhamedov, who owns the idea of organizing the Amul-Khazar 2018 rally, will take part in the celebration.
