Students of the National Institute of Sport and Tourism took part in the training seminar on doping control. The training was organized by the Ministry of Sport and Youth Policy and the National Anti-Doping Agency of Turkmenistan (NADAT) in preparation for the upcoming World Weightlifting Championship in Ashgabat. As chairman of NADAT Mekan Gylychmammadov noted, the main task of the seminar is to prevent doping in sport, inform about the consequences of its use and prevent unintentional use of prohibited substances. Special attention was paid to the procedure for the passage of doping control and the filing of a request for the therapeutic use of prohibited means.Shatlyk ANNAGELDYEV

Each athlete can make sport cleaner, said the head of NADAT. To do this, it is necessary to abandon sports supplements that often contain illegal drugs, as well as monitor changes in the World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List (WADA), which is updated annually.
After Turkmenistan ratified the UNESCO International Convention against Doping in Sport, this activity in Turkmen sports has reached a new level. In March 2017, the National Anti-Doping Agency of Turkmenistan was established, which closely cooperates with WADA. The NADAT doping control officers took direct part in accompanying the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games held in Ashgabat last September.
According to the contract concluded between the organizers of the 2018 World Cup and the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) on holding the championship in Ashgabad, doping experts will be tested by IWF experts, and NADAT representatives will assist them in this matter, for example, as human chaperones , accompanying the athlete to the point of doping control.
