Today, a special flight from Paris landed at the International Airport of Ashgabat. There were 117 passengers on board, including participants and co-organizers of the “Amul-Khazar 2018” Rally, which starts on September 11. As part of the delegation, rally drivers from Britain, Czech Republic and other countries arrived. “I am very glad that I was able to come to Turkmenistan. In February, I did not even think that I would have such an opportunity, but the organizers of the rally did so much work in such a short time! And I cann’t wait to try the track,” Harry Hunt, the British pilot, the owner of the 2010 IRC 2WD Cup, shared with ORIENT. The responsiveness and the organization level of the “Amul-Khazar 2018” Rally is amazing. For last six months, a tremendous work was done and a huge number of presentations were held. Thanks to this, absolutely everyone wanted to participate in the rally in Turkmenistan. “We applied for registration in the last days, and we were not sure that we will get to the rally. Now we are very glad that we are here. My friend, Kazakhstan racer Andrey Cherednikov, wanted to participate also. He had problems with the car, so he would drive another car. After all, he will participate!” says Miroslav Zapletal, a Czech pilot. About 80 crews from every corner of the globe, including Great Britain, France, Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, Italy, Saudi Arabia, etc. will take part in the “Amul-Khazar 2018” Rally. To ensure that such a number of cars does not affect the eco-system of the Karakum Desert, Turkmenbashy Refinery Complex will provide participants of the rally with ECO-5 diesel fuel that meet all European environmental standards. “The participants were impressed that the ecological aspect is the key topic of the rally race,” added Jonathan Mege, one of co-organizers of the rally. “You know, cars that have a negative impact on the environment are still used in Europe in rally. I hope that such rally as Amul-Khazar to motivate us to upgrade the cars and make them more environmentally friendly.” The delegates were impressed with state-of-the-art airport, where any traveler can find everything he needs, from children’s playgrounds for families traveling with kids, to the fashionable business lounge with individual check-in, Fast Track service, free Wi-Fi , a buffet, a shower and even a pool table; as well as electronic registration desk, and touch-sensitive electronic question-answering system. Having quickly passed all control points, the delegation, accompanied by BMW electric cars belonging to the capital’s traffic police, passed to the local airport for a flight to Turkmenabat. Upon arrival, the BMW i8 was in the spotlight: pictures of a futuristic electric car from every angle was made and many people made selfies against the background of the cars. The organizers and participants were happy to share the expectations of the “Amul-Khazar 2018” Rally. Even before its start, this raid is described as one of the most exciting, interesting and amazing sports events in the world.
