The Romanian crew goes to conquer the Turkmen desert

The Romanian team Transcarpatic Rally Team, led by pilot Claudio Barbu, which just returned from the Polish stage of the World Rally Championship, where it took third place, is leaving for Turkmenistan this Saturday.
In the Amul-Khazar 2018 rally, the team will compete in the T2.2 SSV class on the Polaris RZR ATV, with which the Romanians took part for the first time in the transcontinental marathon Africa Eco Race. Transcarpatic is a champion in Eastern Europe.
The crew, consisting of Claudio Barbu, Paul Spiridon and Fazakas Dorin, anticipates the race in the Karakum. For high-speed driving through the sands, they made many changes to their car, including additional ventilation from engine overheating and an additional fuel tank. In the cabin for greater security, the seats are equipped with six seat belts.
Claudio Barbu said that the most difficult moment of the race in the desert was "fighting with himself."
