Berdimuhamedov will meet colleagues from CIS countries in St.-Petersburg
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov will make a working visit to St.-Petersburg for participation in the informal meeting of heads of the CIS states. Development of a traditional dialogue in the format of the Commonwealth of Independent States - a priority direction of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan which is an associated member of the CIS. In 2019 Ashgabat has carried out successful chairmanship of the CIS, having realized at high level all program actions, including the summits of heads of the states and the Commonwealth governments. In unanimous opinion of political scientists, Turkmenistan’s chairmanship has strengthened historically developed interaction in the CIS, promoted enhancement of multiple partnership and has given it new stimulus.
