Turkmen team won the first medals of the III World Nomadic Games


Today, in the Kyrgyz city of Cholpon-Ata on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, the III World Nomadic Games (VIC) was launched, where, on the first day of the competition, Turkmen athletes replenished the treasury with three awards of different dignity.
Annamyrat Myradov, a student of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism of Turkmenistan, received gold medal in competitions in the Tajik national wrestling (+100 kg). The victory gave the athlete the right to participate in the competitions "The Great Struggle of the Nomads", in which the winners of the competitions on the national types of the struggle for the VIC compete.
Also in the Tajik wrestling, athletes Begench Yagmyrov (68 kg), who took silver, and Sylapberdi Nuryev (82 kg), who won bronze medals, achieved good results.
At the III WNG, Turkmenistan is represented by 40 athletes in 13 sports, including the Turkmen national struggle "goresh", wrestling on the belts "alysh", sambo, archery, horse racing, etc.
In addition to the traditional sports competitions, the multicultural ethnofestival "The Universe of Nomads" and scientific conferences are held in the framework of the III WNG. Turkmen scientific masters of arts and crafts and virtuosos of national musical instruments - gargy tuyduk, dutar and gyjak are participating.
In the era of globalization, such distinctive forums as the World Nomadic Games make a significant contribution to the idea of preserving and replicating unique cultural traditions, preserving the diversity of the world for future generations.
Participants in this large-scale and colorful Games come from more than 50 countries, including from such seemingly "non-nomadic" countries as Austria, Armenia, Belarus, Israel, Poland, Canada, Germany, Colombia.
