International electricity forum to be held in Ashgabat
An international exhibition and scientific conference "The main directions of development of Turkmenistan's energy industry" will be held in Ashgabat on September 6-8 . The forum is organized by the Ministry of Energy and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
The main goal of the exhibition and conference is the presentation of the electric power potential of Turkmenistan, attraction of foreign investments and advanced technologies to this industry, as well as the development of international cooperation in the field of energy saving and the modernization of generating and distribution capacities.
It is expected that well-known foreign companies working in the field of electric power industry will take part in the forum.
Turkmenistan is a self-sufficient state in the electric power industry. The Turkmen energy industry not only meets the state's electricity needs, but allows part of the energy to be supplied to foreign countries.
In the first half of 2018, electricity exports amounted to 1 206.5 million kWh.
The main share of industrial power production in the country falls on Ashgabat - more than 52 percent today.
