China-Eurasia EXPO: Tourism and textile industry in the focus of the Turkmen pavilion


On 30 August, the 6th China-Eurasia EXPO, held this year under the slogan “The Belt amd Road: Consolation, Contribution and Shared Benefits”, began its work in the international exhibition center of Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region of China.
The list of exhibitors of the giant economic show, which will last until 2 September, includes more than 700 Chinese and foreign companies, transnational corporations, world’s leading manufacturers from 35 countries. High-level government delegations representing relevant ministries and departments were also attracted by the Expo, the program of which provides for 15 ministerial forums.
The exhibition area of 140 thousand square meters is divided into two zones. One zone is for the hosts of the event. The Chinese companies revealed the economic and industrial image of their country in their expositions, presenting achievements in various sectors from agriculture to high technology. Another zone is occupied by pavilions of foreign participants.
Turkmenistan's participation in the EXPO China-Eurasia is focused on the tourism potential of the country.
76 meters-high colorful stand, decorated in best national ornamental traditions, gives in-depth information about the tours and services offered by the exhibitors - leading tour operators "Ahalsyyahat", "Ashgabatsyyahat", "Dashoguzsyyahat", "Ayan", "Atlas". The visitors of the Turkmen pavilion with special attention watch a video telling about the upcoming international rally “Amul Khazar 2018”.
The Embassy of Turkmenistan to China also helped to organize a presentation of Turkmen textile products.
In general, the sympathy, interest and curiosity that were read in the eyes of the guests of the Turkmen pavilion testifies to the growing desire of the Eurasian countries for a closer acquaintance with the rich history and progressive economy of Turkmenistan, which plays an important role in the formation of the modern Silk Road.
By the way, Yasheng Sidike, the mayor of Urumqi, at a special dinner in honor of the Turkmen delegation highly appreciated the success of the tourism and textile industries of Turkmenistan and invited to step up mutual trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian ties.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, Turkmen delegates held a number of bilateral events, including with representatives of travel agencies and tour operators of China.
Also today, within the framework of the Chinese-Eurasian Expo, the second Turkmen-Chinese tourism forum was held, which was attended by the heads of the government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous region and the city of Urumqi, as well as large travel agencies of the region.
