Turkmenistan intends to join one of the major sports organizations
On Monday, 16 October, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium Ata Serdarov handed over a package of documents for the country's entry into the International Military Sports Council (CISM), says press release on the organization's official website.
The official submission of the application to the CISM Secretary General, Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita took place at the headquarters of the Council in Brussels.
Head-quarter’s CEO Olivier Verhelle read out a congratulatory message on behalf of the president, Colonel Alshino.
The meeting ended with the exchange of memorable gifts.
International Military Sports Council or Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM) is one of the most authoritative multidisciplinary sports organizations in the world and considered the most influential after the International Olympic Committee.
CISM, established in 1948, has today 135 member-countries. Every year, CISM annually organises over twenty Military World Championships for different sports under the general motto “Friendship through Sport”, reflecting the three ideals proclaimed by the organization - sports, solidarity, physical education.
