Turkmen athletes participate in the Asian Championship in the Kazakh national wrestling

Turkmen athletes Hekim Agamammedov (66 kg), Dondi Hojaguliyev (90 kg), Yhlas Setdarov (100 kg) and Rahim Nazarov (+100 kg) take part in the Asian Championship in the Kazakh wrestling kures, which was launched on August 26th in the Daulet sports complex in Astana. About 80 athletes from 11 countries will compete for the title of Asian champion in 8 weight categories (55 kg, 60 kg, 66 kg, 74 kg, 82 kg, 90 kg, 100 kg, +100 kg) and in the absolute weight category. Rivals of Turkmen wrestlers will be athletes from Mongolia, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Japan, Iran and Kyrgyzstan. The Kazakh kures has similarities with the Turkmen national struggle goresh - a very popular sport in Turkmenistan. Therefore, our palvans have every chance to win prizes in the Championship. Some of the tricks of goresh are included in the technique of other sports, so sportsmen performing in the national Turkmen wrestling take part in competitions in many other martial arts, for example - sambo and judo.Aina BERDYEVA
