The delegates of Turkmenistan held a second day of the World Festival of Youth and Students in an excellent form. And it's not just about sport. First, thousands of peers from all over the world fled symbolic 2017 meters and received memorable medals for this. Among the lucky winners of these awards were, for example, Rahmet Byashimov and Ildar Hadzhiyev. The guys lied the festival run - there were no difficulties at the distance, but it turned out to be completely unique. And it's not only because of the geography of the participants. The track along which the students fled was the Formula 1 race track, which, as is known, was also held in Sochi.Leonid KIYASHKO, journalist, Ivanovo, Russian Federation
Almost at the same time, as the most massive race of the World Festival of Youth and Students began, a parade of delegations was held on the square in front of the circuit. Among the banners prepared for the solemn procession, there were also Turkmen flags.
After a bright ceremony, the territory near the race track turned into a huge sports ground, where guys and girls from different countries of the world fulfilled the standards to earn the symbolic badge of the complex "Ready for work and defense", which was revived in Russia.
Showing their good physical shape, the festival participants went to an exhibition of countries and regions in the Main Media Center. The attention of the Turkmen citizens was attracted by the exhibition of Roskosmos. Some of its specialists, what is especially interesting, had gift equipment with the same chevrons as the cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko, who, as you know, was born in Turkmenistan. It was quite possible to try on and make a memorable photo in a jacket with the emblem of one of the flights of our famous compatriot (which I, incidentally, also took advantage of).
At the exhibition there was also a sample of a spacesuit for a trip to Mars, which, as Oleg Dmitrievich recently told in his interviews, he still hopes to accomplish.
In the space exposition there was also a model of the manned Soviet space ship "Buran", which was tested by the legendary Igor Volk. Even before becoming an astronaut, he served in Turkmenistan. And after completing his career, he came to rest and restore his strength to the resort of Mollakara, where, by his words, he felt a dear feeling of weightless in salt water.
