Ashgabat Pushkin Theater performs in Russia


Actors of the Ashgabat State Russian Drama Theater named after Alexander Pushkin went on tour to the Russian Federation.
The evening performance We are sure to meet based on the story by Atajan Tagan Stranger took place on the stage of the Tsaritsyno Opera House of Volgograd city on November 23. The story plot is based on real events of the late 19th century. The production director is Honored Worker of Turkmenistan Ashir Rahmanov.
On November 24, the children’s play Bovenjik, based on the Turkmen folk tale, took place at the same venue. It was staged by Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Laura Stepanskaya.
Both productions show Turkmen traditions and customs, and have many colorful ceremonial and folklore elements.
- The Volgograd audience gave us a very warm welcom. After the performances, the actors enjoyed talking with spectators and journalists, Pushkin Theater Director Ashir Rahmanov says. - Our artists went on excursions in historical places of Volgograd. Today we are going to Astrakhan.
