CIS: tasks of the Ashgabat Declaration to be considered at a conference in Moscow


On November 26, Moscow office of the CIS Executive Committee will host a scientific-practical conference on the theme “The Role and Significance of the Declaration on Strategic Economic Cooperation of the CIS Member States in Strengthening Economic Integration in the Eurasian Space”. The conference will be attended by Permanent Plenipotentiaries of the CIS Member States to the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth, the leadership of the CIS Executive Committee, as well as leading specialists. Eurasian economic integration is a priority in joint work in the CIS. It would contribute to the further strengthening of comprehensive mutually beneficial and equal cooperation with other countries, international associations with possibility to creat a common economic space. The Declaration on Strategic Economic Cooperation of the CIS Member States or the Ashgabat Declaration was adopted at the meeting of the Council of the Heads of State of the CIS held on October 11, 2019 in the capital of Turkmenistan. The document was introduced at the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and is aimed at creating conditions for enhancing cooperation between the Commonwealth states. The document takes into account the economic interests of each CIS member-state.
