Akhaltekin Melebatyr wins again and again
Day by day the army of admirers of magnificent "heavenly horses" keeps on growing. So in Russia, the Grand Krasnodar Derby was played for Akhal-Teke horses with a total prize fund of one million rubles. The winner of the competition was Melebatyr – an outstanding Akhal-Teke, a multiple prize-winner of various competitions.
The program of the race day in the framework of the Grand Prix of Derby consisted of 9 races for the horses of the Akhal-Teke, Arab breeds and thoroughbred horses. Melebatyr, whose pedigree comes from the glorious Turkmen ancestors, overcame the distance of 2400 meters in 2.59 minutes and eventually became the first.
A week before that, on August 5th Melebatyr won the Pyatigorsk Hippodrome and won the Great All-Russian Prize.
Statistics of this stallion is striking: 9 out of 10 starts ended in victory, and for the only time Melebatyr became the third in the Summer Prize at the Pyatigorsk Hippodrome last year.
