Japanese Honda has developed a unique robotic rescuer
Japanese engineers at Honda have developed a humanoid robot E2-DR, which is designed to work in emergency situations. The main feature of this human-like mechanism is that it can move without any difficulty on any surface, open doors independently, climb into hard-to-reach places. Despite the fact that it does it without a special grace, its ability to orientate in space is for the first time very close to human, which can be called a breakthrough in robotics. The body of the humanoid robot can rotate at 180 degrees, and the dynamic joints of the hips and knees give it the ability to walk like a human. In the event of failure of the mechanism or loss of power supply, the robot is adapted to self-fixing so that the structure is not further damaged. This smart devise receives energy from the battery, which is designed for an hour and a half of work. Taking into account the unpredictability of the environment, the company's specialists designed the robot to be waterproof, protected from dust and high temperatures. Special cooling devices serve as a shield against overheating near an open fire.
