Leaders of Japanese business undertake new investment projects in Turkmenistan


Five documents have been signed between departments of Turkmenistan and the largest Japanese companies following the results of the meeting of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with representatives of the business community of Japan.
For today in Turkmenistan 37 investment projects with participation of Japanese companies for a total sum of 12 billion US dollars are registered, the Turkmen leader at the meeting told. These figures will be increased in times, proceeding from top-level agreements, the president noted.
Berdimuhamedov has met today with the senior officials of Japanese corporations Itochu, Sojitz, Kawasaki, Mitsubishi, Chiyoda and others at a working breakfast in the Tokyo Hotel Chinzanso. The basic themes of the meeting were investment, innovation and export.
After an intensive exchange of opinions and discussions of new projects and possibilities several agreements and memorandums were concluded. Including - with Sumitomo on motor transport purchase, with Itochu - purchase of digging technics. The memorandum with Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Sojitz - on designing of the second turn of a natural gasoline plant was signed.
Other two documents concern development of the project new ammonia urea factory - with the assistance of Mitsubishi and building of a shop for manufacture of the concentrated phosphoric fertilizers at the Turkmenabad chemical factory with the assistance of Sojitz.
Besides, during the visit of the official Turkmen delegation to Tokyo the memorandum between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Economics, Trade and Industry of Japan on cooperation in the field of infrastructure and the agreement between the State Bank of Foreign Ecomic Activities of Turkmenistan and Japanese Bank of international Cooperation (JBIC) were prepared for signing.
