Border trade between Turkmenistan and Iran discussed in Bajgiran


Turkmen delegation, led by deputy minister of foreign economic relations and trade met at Bajigiran cross border point with Mojtaba Khosrotaj, Iranian deputy minister of industry, mines and trade, head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran.
The gathering, attended by the representatives of the two countries' business sectors, customs staff, border guards, discussed further development of trans border trade cooperation between two countries.
The sides also agreed to facilitate smooth movement of cargo flows, goods transportations and easy travel of people, visiting markets of border areas.
It was also decided to devote the next meeting to the issues of establishment free trade between Iran and Turkmenistan.
Turkmenistan is the second largest export destination of Iranian northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi. Iranian authorities consider the city of Quchan, located in this province just in two hours from Ashgabat, as a key area for exchange of goods with the countries of Central Asia.
