Foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan discussed preparations for the Caspian and Aral summits


On Monday, during a telephone conversation, the Minister of foreign affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov discussed with his Kazakh counterpart Kairat Abdrakhmanov the preparations for the summit meetings with the participation of the heads of regional states. The summit of the founding countries of the International Fund for saving the Aral Sea, scheduled for the third decade of August in Ashgabat, and the fifth summit of the Caspian countries, to be hosted by Aktau on 12 August, were under the focus. In this regard, the parties paid special attention to the working out of organizational issues, as well as discussed joint activities through the IFsAS, celebrating this year its 25th anniversary. The foreign ministers noted the high dynamics of the Turkmen-Kazakh relations, as evidenced by the fruitful political contacts, the expansion of trade and economic cooperation and the growth of cultural and humanitarian ties.
