Turkmenistan kickboxing team wins 10 medals at World Cup


The X Diamond kickboxing World Cup took place at the end of September 29 in the Russian city of Anapa, where Turkmen fighters won ten medals - three gold, three silver and four bronze.
The national team of Turkmenistan competed in such disciplines as low-kick, full-contact and K1.
In the low-kick discipline in the weight category up to 71 kg Islam Rakhmetov, Muhammet Altybaev and Khadzhimurad Geldymamedov climbed to the top of the podium. In the final matches, they defeated rivals from Russia - a country with long-standing boxing traditions and representatives of one of the world's strongest modern kickboxing schools.
Gochmurad Dzhumaniyazov (up to 71 kg), Ainazar Gylydzhov (up to 86 kg) and Mekan Bekmammedov (up to 54 kg) were on the verge of victory.
“Bronze” of the Kickboxing World Cup was won by Akmurad Akyev and Taylymurad Yegeleev in the weight category up to 67 kg, Merdan Mammadov (up to 71 kg), Shokhrat Yagmyradov (up to 75 kg).
The main competition to the Turkmen people was fighters from Russia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
- The national team of Turkmenistan demonstrated excellent results at the X World Cup Diamond World Cup. This once again proves that all the forces devoted to preparing for a large-scale tournament were justified,” says Halmurat Izmailov, chairman of the kickboxing federation of Turkmenistan, two-time European champion and winner of the World Cup.
Turkmenistan kickboxers have repeatedly won victories in major international tournaments. So, this year, the national team of Turkmenistan brought to the piggy bank medals of all virtues at the IV International Kickboxing Cup.
At present, Turkmen kickboxers are preparing for another significant event - the World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in November this year in Turkey.
