President of Turkmenistan took part in mass environmental action
Today in Turkmenistan there was a general community cleanup day, opening an autumn greening campaign. The tone of the mass ecological action was set by the Turkmen leader. President Berdimuhamedov planted the first tree in the territory where Novruz national holiday is celebrated annually in the Ahal velayat. Today a complex of facilities was opened here, including a concert hall in the form of a huge yurt, where it is also possible to hold large forums, and a pavilion for a garden. Sadaka (a charity dinner) is a unique tradition of the Turkmen people to celebrate important dates and events with collective meals. Representatives of leading universities, public organizations, foreign and Turkmen diplomats, residents of Ahal and Ashgabat take part in planting trees around the Novruz site. The next stage of the implementation of the National Forest Program in 2017 is the planting in the capital, its environs and velayats of three million seedlings of deciduous, coniferous and fruit trees, as well as grapes. In the spring of this year, about 416,000 green "inhabitants" have already settled in the forest park areas of the country. About 355 thousand people have planted about 418 thousand trees. In addition, care was taken for more than 1 million 158 thousand previously planted trees. About 159 thousand trees were planted around Ashgabad this day.
