Student from Turkmenistan to attend World Youth Festival
The student of the South Ural State University Gulnara Hadjiyeva from Turkmenistan, as well as students from Sri Lanka and Mongolia who study at this university, will take part in the XIX World Youth Festival that will be held in Sochi on 15-22 October.
The international event, timed to the 70th anniversary of the youth festival movement, will attract 20,000 participants from 150 countries, 200 public envoys and 5,000 volunteers. Among the participants are young leaders, scientists and engineers, teachers, athletes, creative youth.
The task of the festival, to be hosted by Sochi Olympic Park, is the consolidation of the youth community, the strengthening and development of interethnic and intercultural dialogue.
The program of the XIX Festival provides for discussions and lectures on such topical issues of international relations as the global economy, politics and international security. The basis of the discussions, which will be held in six UN working languages, will be 17 Sustainable Development Goals - Agenda 2030.
In addition, it is planned to arrange sports competitions, as well as cultural and art events. Each day of the festival will be dedicated to the presentation of a separate region of the world.
The first world festival of youth and students, lasted for almost one and a half month, was held in 1947 in Prague, Czech Republic.
