President of Turkmenistan called for supporting youth social activity
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov spoke at the 6th Congress of the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly, charging its delegates with intensifying public work. The President highlighted the importance of the country’s independence holiday, on the threshold of which a youth congress is held, outlined the priorities of the state domestic and foreign policy, and commended the role of youth in the modern transformations taking place in the economic and socio-political sectors of Turkmenistan. He specified among the most important areas of the state youth policy the creation of conditions for spiritual and moral education, adequate training of youth, promoting a healthy lifestyle and sports, and shaping an active civic position. In his speech, Berdimuhamedov touched upon the reform of national education and development of digital education, as well as the sports infrastructure and sport in the country. As for the main goals of the youth policy, the President singled out the provision of legal and social protection of young people, popularization of cultural values and national heritage among them, increasing the effectiveness of health-saving technologies, stimulating and encouraging youth’s social activity and initiative.
