Turkmen Taekwondo Players are Triumphators of the Championship in Nepal

On June 15, the VI South Asian & Open Taekwondo Championship, held in the city of Kathmandu, Nepal, was ceremoniously completed. The national team of Turkmenistan won the second place in the team event. A sports delegation from Turkmenistan, consisting of the best athletes of the country, Gaygysiz Atabayev, Orazmyrad Chariyev, Serdar Hydyrov, Annamyrad Goshaniyazov and Goshaniyaz Durdiyev, became the silver winners of the championship with 7 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals. Our compatriots surrendered the place only to more numerous Nepal team – the host team of the championship, which won 9 gold medals. After becoming the absolute favorites of the tournament after the first day of demonstration performances, the Turkmen athletes set a high level for the opponents. As a result of the competition, Annamyrad Goshaniyazov (black belt, 4 dan) was awarded the title of the Absolute Champion of the VI South Asian & Open Taekwondo Championship. Coach of our team – Aydogdy Atabaev, the International Master of Sports and the Honored coach of Turkmenistan, won the title “The Best Coach”. Turkmen athletes continue to gain their reputation in the world arenas, raising the prestige of Turkmenistan as a sport country higher and higher. The International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) has already planned a number of sporting events for the end of 2018 – beginning of 2019, at which our Taekwondo players are among the obvious favorites.Altyn ASHYROVA
