When a soul speaks through creativity, it is immediately apparent. Pictures, photographs, music and poetry come out unique, deep, and stir everyone’s emotions. This is what the Inspiration exhibition held in Ashgabat today is all about. Photographers Nick Vavilov (Fotozavod) and Alexander Petrosov (truelove production), street artist Kyamran Mamedov (Kema Inc.), poet Daniel Mazmishvili and musical band The Curse of Scarlett set a new trend for the capital’s exhibitions by combining different types of art in a successful performance. - All participants of the Inspiration exhibition are kindred spirits, said Nick Vavilov speaking to ORIENT. – We have much in common both in terms of creativity and daily life. This is what united us, the harmony of interests, ideas and views. The exhibition is truly integral. Discreet electronic images by Alexander Petrosov are intertwined with the overall mood, accompanying the visitors from picture to picture. Looking at charming marine sceneries by truelove production, one might feel the desire to dive into the Caspian Sea at sunset. Unique images in photosets by Fotozavod awaken one’s imagination, while vibrant drawings by Kema Inc., Ashgabat’s very own Banksy, make one reflect on the future. All these gently flow into one another, while preserving individuality of each work. The lights go out, and poet Daniel Mazmishvili takes the floor. His poetry is relatable and understood by all. He asks clear questions and leaves the audience thinking about vital and timeless answers. The night continues with a performance by The Curse of Scarlett that plays a hypnotizing piece called Allegory. Ruslan Nepesov (guitar), Constantine Shlyahtenko (keyboard), Azat Nurmuhamedov (drums) and Farhad Sabedov (bass guitar) radiate magic and viscosity through the music that wraps the audience and leads them through the picture frames. The lottery organized by sponsors and participants added a heartening touch to the event. The lucky visitors had a chance to pick any work by each artist, while one of the winners received a select collection of music from Alexander Petrosov. The Inspiration exhibition was a great gift to art enthusiasts as the event itself was a piece of art, a successful creative experiment that we already want to repeat.
