Turkmen athletes won 18 medals at the Asian Ju-Jitsu Championship in Kazakhstan

Turkmen athletes won 9 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals at the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship, held in Aktau on July 12-16. The national team of Turkmenistan was at the honorable third place in the team event. Gold medal in Ju-Jitsu Contact Systems category was won by Mergen Tejenov (+94kg), Serdar Hojamuhammedov (94kg), Rustam Rozmetov (77kg), Batyr Durdiyev (56kg), Veronika Rus (55kg), Sayara Avezmetova (49kg) and Sabina Agadjanova (+70kg ). In Ne-Waza discipline among women, Angelina Filipova (55kg) and Aysoltan Garchovova (+70kg) became gold medalists, the latter also won two bronze medals in Contact and Fighting Systems. Silver medalists are Yusup Tanryberdiev (62kg), Begenchmurad Kakabayev (85kg) and Mergen Jorayev (85kg). Silver in Ne-Waza discipline among women was awarded to Violetta Krovyakova (62kg) and Sabina Agadjanova (+70 kg), who also won a bronze in Fighting System. Nejimetdin Chariyev (94kg) won the bronze in Ne-Waza among Men Senior. In team event, the national team of Turkmenistan surrendered the place only to the team of Kazakhstan and Thailand. The winners of the Asian Jiu -Jitsu Championship are eligible to partcipate in the Asian Summer Games, set to take place in a month in Jakarta.Ayna BERDIYEVA
