Turkmen paintress – participant of the International Art Symposium in Russia

From 9 to 18 July 2018, Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve holds the XIII International Art Symposium on Contemporary Art on the theme “Folk Games and Amusements”, where paintress from Turkmenistan Jahan Hanova takes part. Its theme includes an artistic interpretation of folk games and amusements that reveal national traditions in the culture of different peoples. Participants of the symposium are asked to pay attention to wedding and ceremonial games, traditional games-competitions, festive and children's games. This year, the event gathered over 40 artists from 12 countries: Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova and Turkey. The final exhibition of works completed will be held in Yelabuga Museum-Reserve on July 17. In total, over 12 years, the Museum-Reserve held a number of art projects, in which over 700 artists from 21 countries took part. Last year, Jahan Hanova painted on the canvas the Turkmen women engaged in making a national carpet. There are still life “Sunflower with peaches” and “Dolls”, a portrait “Girls with a character”, a painting “Motherhood” and a series of paintings “Lotus blooming” and others in her collection.
