Texas shipped to Turkmenistan ISO-containers for the transport of oil and gas chemicals

Texas-based producer of specialized oil and gas equipment Gas Innovations has supplied Turkmenistan 100 ISO-containers designed for transportation of petrochemical products.
The tank containers were delivered from USA to Turkmenistan in 60 days according to the multimodal scheme – across the ocean, via three seas and by railway.
According to Don Bobyk, Vice-President of Marketing and Sales, planning for the project began more than two months prior to the first shipment.
"Gas Innovations provided full turnkey logistics support as well as complete project management to assure units arrived on time in Houston to enable timely shipment each month for seven consecutive months. Quality assurance for all shipments was provided by Gas Innovations both when received and again when shipped," he added.
Imported from the United States tank containers or ISO containers model T50 serve as a vehicle for long-distance transport of uncooled liquefied gases by road, rail, river and sea, as well as for temporary storage of the consignee.
What are the advantages of ISO containers over conventional tanks? Tank-containers have a more damage-proof design compared to tanks, meeting the requirements for transport safety. Thanks to the built-in reinforced frame such vessels can withstand pressure without damaging the cargo, and any accident of the usual tank leads to the loss of bulk cargo. In addition, the tank-container, being a multimodal transport unit, does not require cargo reloading operations and special storage areas for combined transportation.
The formation of a modern operating park for the transportation of chemical products in Turkmenistan is becoming relevant in the light of the implementation of several projects aimed at expanding capacity of deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials. Among them - plant for processing natural gas and production of carbamide in Garabogaz, gas chemical complex in Kiyanly, GTG-plant for the production of gasoline, diesel and liquefied gas from natural gas in Ahal province.
