Chinese automotive company Sinotruk intends to establish a joint venture in Turkmenistan
China offered to set up a factory in Turkmenistan to assemble trucks of the "Sinotruk" company. This initiative was voiced during the meeting of the leadership of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan with the Chinese delegation headed by the Deputy Governor of the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China. The Chinese state-owned automotive company Sinotruk produces trucks, semi-trailers and dump trucks that are used in various industries, including construction, container transportation, mining, etc. In addition to heavy trucks, the company produces and low-tonnage commercial vehicles, pick-up trucks, various specialized vehicles under the brand "Howo". During the meeting held within the framework of the China Goods Exhibition held in Ashgabat, the sides discussed the possibilities of exchanging experience in the production of textile products, implementation of joint projects for the development of greenhouse facilities in our country and the creation of enterprises producing household equipment (refrigerators, gas stoves, etc.). The parties considered the possibility of holding an exhibition of Turkmen products in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China in 2018. The leaders of the Chinese delegation invited the representatives of Turkmenistan to take part in the international exhibition "EXPO China-Eurasia - 2017", which will be held in the end of August in Urumqi, XUAR of China. The main theme of the exhibition: "Construction of the Silk Road Trade Platform, promoting cooperation and joint prosperity of the economy". The exhibition "China-Eurasia" is an important platform for expanding cooperation in trade, investment, technology, culture between Xinjiang and the countries of Eurasia. Therefore, on the margins of this major forum, it is proposed to discuss in more detail the opening prospects of the Turkmen-Chinese partnership, to determine its directions and the points of application of joint efforts.
