Turkmen exports exceed imports my half


As of January-April of this year, Turkmenistan's exports exceed imports by 51.4%. A high percentage of the country's foreign trade surplus was provided by a significant increase in exports in a number of areas. Details: According to Goskomstat, in comparison with January 2017, in the first month of this year, Turkmenistan increased the supply of domestic products and raw materials to Great Britain by 2 times, Georgia by 7.5 times and Italy by 2.2 times. By January-April, the increase in exports compared with the same period of last year is 2.8 times for Georgia, 2.3 times for Italy and 3.1 times for the UAE. In January 2018, the prevalence of Turkmen exports over imports was 25.3%, by January-February this indicator reached 29.6%, by January-March - 33.9%. Forecast: If the current prerequisites, namely, the growth of supplies of Turkmen products to foreign countries, as well as the expansion of the assortment and the increase in the number of products, remain at the current level, by the end of the year it is entirely possible that Turkmen exports will prevail over imports already by 100%. Why it is important: An increase in the percentage of positive foreign trade balance will allow accumulating additional funds for investing in large industrial projects, implementation of state programs and replenishment of the Stabilization Fund of Turkmenistan, which will ensure further growth and insure the economy of the country from external factors.
