The reference center of Turkmenistan: with "German precision"

The National Reference Center of Turkmenistan continues to develop cooperation with the Physical and Technical Institute of Germany (Physicalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt-PTB).
From 11 to 14 June representatives of this leading institute of the metrology service of Germany Olaf Schnelle Werner and Oliver Simon Diethard held seminars for the Center specialists on the standard ISO 17025: 2017, the compliance of which is an indicator of the reliability of the results obtained in the laboratory.
Based on the results of the training, the guests expressed interest in further cooperation, including within the framework of the project "Strengthening the Quality Infrastructure in the Countries of Central Asia".
Why it is important: Creating standards (measuring instruments that can detect the smallest deviation from a certain standard) is a very laborious and expensive process. Cooperating with PTB, domestic specialists deepen their knowledge of international standards, which will help them in the creation and calibration of existing ones.
If it is not clear: State reference centers are necessary for the creation and storage of tools that ensure the reliability of accounting for various quantities. For example, to calculate the volume of exported goods. If the calculation is made according to international standards, the prestige of the exporter in the global market is increasing.
All because exported in a huge amount goods with the slightest inaccuracy of measurement can bring significant losses to the importer.
Background: The State Reference Center of Turkmenistan was opened in Ashgabat on October 1, 2013. It consists of 16 laboratories, which installed the latest reference and exemplary equipment and high-precision measuring tools from the world's leading manufacturers.
Last June, the main state service "Turkmenstandartlary" set out to conduct international accreditation of laboratories of the State Reference Center of Turkmenistan.
The first international accreditation was awarded to the Temperature Measurement Laboratory.
