International Caspian Academy advances sports in student culture
Recently, the first International Caspian Academy was held on the basis of the Astrakhan State University (Russian Federation). The event was aimed at popularization of the sports movement among students and timed to the 300th anniversary of the Astrakhan province.
More than 100 students from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Morocco, Uzbekistan, studying in Astrakhan and Saratov, as well as sports teams of higher educational establishments took part in a two-day program of master classes in team sports: gateball, volleyball, handball, quest, paintball and sports teambuilding. Interactive educational sites were also launched there.
In addition to displaying excellent orientation and self-control skills in various game situations, team spirit, the campaign has achieved the most important goals - strengthening friendships through sports, sharing knowledge, promoting the development of dedication and leadership.
The participants of the academy, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, expressed hope that such international projects would become a good tradition.
