Forever-young Violin Ensemble led by Harold Neimark

Harold Isaakovich Neimark, People’s Artist of Turkmenistan, laureate of the Order of Altyn Asyr (Golden Age), third degree, adored musician and great teacher, today celebrates the triple jubilee: personal – this year he celebrates 80-year birthday anniversary, professional – 60 years of creative activity, and labor celebration – 40 years to the ensemble of young violinists “Mukam”, brainchild of a musician! The jubilee gala concert on the stage of the National Music and Drama Theater named after Mahtumkuli began with the most pleasant – Harold Isaakovich was solemnly awarded the honorary Order of Altyn Asyr, second degree, for outstanding creative achievements, high skill and professionalism.Maya AMANMURADOVA
“We all work not for awards,” Harold Isaakovich said in his thank-you speech. “We work because we are in love with what we do, and we are in love with music. Moreover, it is very pleasant that our efforts are awarded at such a high level!”
Love for the music of the pupil of the children’s specialized music school named after Prof. P.S.Stolarsky in the city of Odessa, the graduate of the Conservatoire named after Nejdanova, the post-graduate of the Gnessin State Music Pedagogical Institute, Moscow, the founder and permanent artistic director of the ensemble “Mukam” is shown in his pupils. They, like national jewelry – works of art created by a skillful master, sparkle with bright sides of their talents, organically fitting into the sound of the whole collective.
The synchronous movement of the bows is fascinating. It seems that the strings of violins originate in the hearts of the musicians and listeners in the hall and stretch through time and distance, combining the past and the future, obliterating for them the dividing line between the boundaries. Folk motives have something in common with the classical works of Turkmen and foreign composers: Nury Halmamedov, Mered Annamuradov, Nikolo Paganini, Georges Bizet, and merge with modern melodies.
“I was lucky to touch the musical treasury of Turkmenistan, understand and love the Turkmen folk music, roots of which nourish the whole palette of musical culture of the country,” Harold Isaakovich adds.
The contribution of the maestro to the art is inspiring great admiration: remarkable for longevity, the music ensemble of violinists “Mukam” was received with stormy applause in Russia, Turkey, Hungary, Ukraine, Malaysia, China, and Belarus. Moreover, their performance in the lobby of the New York UN headquarters on the occasion of the adoption by the UN General Assembly the resolution on neutral status of Turkmenistan is still remembered enthusiastically by representatives of international delegations.
The list of Harold Neimark’s personal achievements and the accomplishments of his students can be continued endlessly, as the musician does not intend to stop on results achieved. Assuredly, the national artist, talented teacher and gifted violinist who is active, always full of energy and creative ideas, will surprise and delight the faithful audience in future again.
