The inauguration of the Russian president took place in the Kremlin


On May 7th, the inauguration of Russian President Vladimir Putin, elected to the highest state post by a majority of the electorate during the March 18th, 2018 elections, took place at the Grand Kremlin Palace.
The ceremony was attended by more than 5 thousand guests, including well-known politicians, businessmen and creative intelligentsia.
Exactly at 12:00 Moscow time (14:00 Ashgabat time), Putin took the oath and officially took office as president of the Russian Federation.
Then the head of Russia delivered an inaugural speech in which he stressed that first of all he will pay attention to the growth of the well-being of citizens and will do everything for the peaceful and prosperous future of the country.
Also, Putin thanked his compatriots for tremendous support in the elections.
Let us recall that the turnout of Russian citizens in the election of the Russian president in Turkmenistan was declared a record. On the voting day, about 1.2 thousand people came to the polling stations by 12:00 on Ashgabat's time. For comparison, as many people came to the last elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation for the whole day.
During the telephone conversation on March 13th between the leaders of Turkmenistan and Russia, President Berdimuhamedov expressed the hope that the citizens of the Russian Federation will vote in the elections and make the right decision.
On March 19th, Berdimuhamedov sent congratulations to Putin on his re-election to the highest state post, in which he noted that Turkmenistan highly values the personal contribution of the Russian leader to the development of Turkmen-Russian relations and expresses confidence in continuing a meaningful dialogue and constructive joint work to build up the entire complex of bilateral ties.
