Transport and services - the most growing markets in Turkmenistan
On Friday, at a meeting of the government of Turkmenistan, the results of the development of the national economy for January-April 2018 were summed up. In the reports of vice-premiers, information was provided that the country's GDP in the first four months of this year increased by 6.2%. The largest growth was in the transport and communications sector (10.4%) and services (10.1%). Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan increased the volume of manufactured industrial products by 23.7% and the volume of production of agricultural and food products by 14.6%. Production in the country as a whole increased by 4.2%, and the volume of retail trade turnover by 18.2%. The high growth rate of production was shown by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources - by 104.8%. In the oil and gas sector, high targets were achieved and the plans for the production of oil and gas condensate, the production of gasoline, diesel fuel, lubricating oils, polypropylene and liquefied gas, as well as the processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, were fully implemented.
