Turkmen kickboxers to compete in the Asian championship in Kyrgyzstan


The national team of Turkmenistan will participate in the Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO ASIA)’s Championship, to be hosted from on 8-12 May in Cholpon-Ata (Kyrgyzstan).
Athletes from 20 countries, including Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Vietnam, Mongolia, Thailand, Malaysia, China, Taipei, India, Indonesia, UAE, Tajikistan, Nepal, Jordan, Korea will compete in the such disciplines as low kick, full contact, K-1, kick light, point fighting, light contact and solo compositions.
The judges have been invited from Germany, Italy, Korea, Iran, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt and Morocco.
The promoters of the tournament are the Asian Kickboxing Confederation with coordination of Kyrgyzstan national Kickboxing Federation.
The previous edition of WAKO-ASIA championship was hosted by Ashgabat last April. According to its outcomes, Turkmen masters of knockdown, demonstrated a high level of training, ranked first line in the overall ranking.
Good results were achieved by Turkmen kickboxers at the recent International Open Tournament in Turkish Antalya. They won two silver and three bronze medals in K-1 and low-kick.
