Turkmen teachers improve their qualifications within the ERASMUS+ Program


A group of teachers from the International University for the Humanities and Development and the Turkmen State Institute of Finance, took part in the ERASMUS + “Regional objectives of administrative development” (ROAD) – EU Program Project.
The purpose of the trip is to study the best practices of foreign city planners and to share experience further among Turkmen specialists of educational environment.
Within the framework of the visit to the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (Sweden), a one-week training workshop “Urban Transport Infrastructure and Sustainable Development” was organized.
Teachers were introduced to the mechanisms of improving social services in urban construction through active interaction of educational, governmental, industrial and public institutions. The Project of Smart Cities Construction and Electric Transport System to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as Road Safety Ensuring was considered also.
Participants of the workshop visited one of the most celebrated European eco-districts, Hammarby Sjöstad in Stockholm, residents of which using public transport, bicycles and carpools rather than individually driving cars, and where different green technologies in insulating and construction are used.
As a summing up of the trip, from April 26 to May 3, the teachers organize training course for the students of the Academy of Civil Service of Turkmenistan. Studying the best practices of foreign colleagues will help to improve the skills of local staff, allowing to apply the latest methods of urban development, management and administration in their work.
Earlier, the teachers of Turkmen universities participated in advanced training programs in such areas as “Strategic Management and Local Self-Government”, “Information Management”, “Negotiations and Change Management”.
