The competitions on show-jumping (overcoming obstacles) which held in Ashgabat on the eve of the Turkmen Horse's Day confirmed that this kind of equestrian sport in Turkmenistan, which began to develop in the country just seven years ago, is gradually achieving new level and gaining popularity. Although the home of show-jumping is France where the horse shows for jumping obstacles were first held in the middle of the XIX century, it can be assumed that traditional horse racing has been popular with Turkmens since time immemorial. However that may be, the show-jumping first was incorporated into the Olympic Games in 1900 among equestrian sports. Its entertainment is determined by a combination of technicality, art and science. Science is important for understanding the center of gravity and ascending angles, to be able to calculate the tempo length and the repulsion point. Art is an artistic style and talent that help riders and horses to reach goals by being partners and by mutual understanding. After all, the riders have to be high-skilled in the art of controlling horses and they, in turn, have to be by nature not only perfect general physical prepared, but also be able to keep balance when overcoming obstacles. In the near future, such a young Turkmen school of show-jumping plans to accumulate potential and to improve skills by taking part in large international tournaments. The first such serious examination for Turkmen riders was the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, where the national team won one gold medal. Well, is any athlete who does not dream of the Olympic Games?! Of course, the Turkmen riders do not claim to be prepared for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, but, judging by the successes and fervor, it is quite possible to make a bold push for the 2024 Olympic Games. Moreover, who knows, maybe some iconic personalities of world show-jumping who are on the top of the podium will have to give up. At least, there is no doubt, that Turkmens are brilliant riders, as well as that Akhal-Teke horses, who have a powerful and at the same time smooth, flying jump, are able to show outstanding results in sports.
