Belarus invites Turkmen enrollees

There seems to bee no free space in the hall of the Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications. The "Knowledge Fair" exhibition of Belarusian higher education institutions is popular. Vice-rectors, deans, teachers of 20 leading universities of Belarus have developed their expositions and are happy to answer all questions. At the annual event, traditionally, there is an atmosphere of lively and friendly communication. Representatives of the intellectual elite of the Republic of Belarus friendly exchanged contacts with visitors, made joint photos. Delegations brought with them handouts in the Turkmen language. Some higher educational institutions have prepared special promotions for the "Fair of Knowledge". The Belarusian Trade and Economic University has provided unprecedented discounts on studying for those applicants who will fill out their application form at the exhibition, which will work in the Turkmen capital until April 27th.
This year some universities brought with them even some of their Turkmen students. Anyone, even the shyest teenager, could openly ask a question of interest to his compatriot, which guaranteed maximum confidence.
The deputy of the historical faculty of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University Vladislav Kadira told ORIENT about his expectations from the "Knowledge Fair":
- We came to acquaint potential students with new faculties, specialties and areas of study. For us, this is extremely important, because it is the citizens of Turkmenistan who constitute the main percentage of foreign students in our university.
"Nearly one hundred Turkmen students are studying at all levels of education. They actively realize themselves in cultural and sporting events. My colleagues and I very much hope that the "Fair" will bear fruit, and the number of Turkmen students will increase every year," said Svetlana Pronkul, specialist of the Department of Educational Programs of the BSUIR Center for International Cooperation.
Nikolai Kazakov, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Belarusian State Transport University, also shared his thoughts:
- Conducting such events as the Fair of Knowledge is a key aspect of interaction in the educational sphere. And we do not stand still, we are looking for new ways of developing bilateral relations. Our countries are very similar. Given this fact, we are working with our Turkmen colleagues to develop joint projects in the field of transport and communications. This is in demand always and everywhere, because transport is the basis of the economy of any region.
Many graduates of Belarusian universities come to the exhibition to meet their favorite teachers, whom they already miss.
Vice-rector of the Belarusian Trade and Economic University for educational work Tatyana Shablovskaya presented the parents of her best students from Turkmenistan with letters of appreciation.
