On April 25, in Ashgabat, the fourth meeting of representatives of the Caspian states began to discuss the draft Agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the Caspian states. As was stressed by the participants, the draft Agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the Caspian states, developed by the Turkmen side, is aimed at intensifying mutually beneficial trade and economic ties between the Caspian countries. According to experts, from an economic point of view, all five countries are interested in each other and in the common system of trade and economic relations. Along with common goals, each of the Caspian countries has its own tasks, for example, in export and import issues. Therefore, the final version of the document under discussion should reflect all these features and the balance of interests on a multilateral basis. The regular meeting to discuss the draft Agreement was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Finance and Economy and the State Enterprise for Caspian Sea Affairs under the President of Turkmenistan.
