Tashkent to host National Exhibition of Turkmenistan


Within the framework of the current state visit of the President Berdimuhamedov to Uzbekistan, the National Industrial Exhibition of Turkmenistan was solemnly opened on April 23, Monday, in Tashkent, at JSC Uzexpocentre, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan
Delegation of Turkmenistan includes enterprises engaged in the oil and gas, mining, chemical, railway industries, energy, education, construction, agriculture, fisheries, and tourism as well as heads and specialist of state and private companies of the country.
Today, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are taking a course on the active development of the private sector of the economy. Specialized exhibitions of commodity producers stand as one of the forms of cooperation in the small- and medium-sized business as well as are designed to strengthen cooperation between entrepreneurs of the two countries and to find new ways for further promotion of partnership. Thus, at the end of last month, Ashgabat hosted the National Industrial Exhibition of Uzbekistan. More than 60 enterprises of the neighboring country showcased their products.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, in January-March 2018, Turkmen exports to Uzbekistan increased by 8.7 percent compared to the same period last year. Current exhibition provided Turkmen producers with an opportunity to show their foreign partners the assortment of Turkmen goods that has expanded considerably in recent years, which should lead to an intensification of trade turnover between the countries.
The exhibition will continue until April 24. On the same day, the Turkmen-Uzbek Business Forum will be held, which will contribute to the development of promising bilateral contacts between the business circles of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
