The first millions of currency income of the new glass factory near Ashgabat

The glasswork factory “Turkmen Ayna Onumlery”, launched two months ago, already earned the first millions of dollars of foreign currency.
The leading customers of Turkmen glass that realized via the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan are Uzbek traders. Thus, the company “Discount Glass Sale” from a neighboring country has purchased more than half a million square meters of colorless glass to the sum of more that one million dollars.
Also, “Usman Abdul Aziz Ltd.” Company, Afghanistan, and “Petro Petrokimya Ltd. Sti.” Company, Turkey, are among the buyers of Turkmen glass.
Now we can say confidently that Turkmenistan has one more export industry. If earlier foreign consumers knew, mainly, the Turkmen export of natural gas, oil products, high-quality textiles and chemical production, now high quality Turkmen glass among the export-oriented products.
The largest glasswork venture in the Central Asian region was launched in Ovadandepe near the Turkmen capital. The factory, construction and equipping of which cost over 375 million US dollars, is intended for the production of “Float” glass (polished, sheet glass) and various glass containers for the food and medical industry.
The annual output of the company is 1 million square meters of tinted glass, 300 thousand square meters of tempered glass, 100 thousand square meters of laminated glass and 400 thousand square meters of double-glazed windows. A significant part of the products is supposed to be exported to foreign markets.
The factory is equipped with up-to-date equipment from Germany, Belgium, Austria, Italy and Finland. There are more than 800 new jobs created.
Currently, 70 percent of the raw material for glass production is produced in Turkmenistan. It is expected that up to 100 percent of raw materials will be local one soon.
