On April 18th, a representative delegation headed by St. Petersburg Governor G. Poltavchenko paid a short-term visit to the Turkmen capital, having meetings with President Berdimuhamedov and Ashgabat Mayor Sh. Durdylyev. Promising, but not yet reached its apogee, the relationship between the northern capital of Russia and Turkmenistan has been established not so long ago. But these relations in this relatively short period of time managed to prove themselves as very successful. At one time, the most active in this process was the group of companies "Vozrozhdenie", whose track record includes multimillion-dollar contracts with Turkmen agencies. Among such partners is one of the leading power engineering companies of the world - Public Joint-Stock Company "Silovye Maschiny", etc. Berdimuhamedov and Poltavchenko discussed the possibilities of intensifying cooperation primarily in the industrial sphere (taking into account Turkmenistan's ambitious plans for industrialization of the national economy), in the construction industry (the scale of new buildings not only in Ashgabat but also in the periphery of the country has already ceased to amaze everyone except well-paid opponents) in the energy sector (taking into account the fact that the Turkmen fuel and energy complex is still a sleeping tiger, which will wake up at any moment). And, of course, attention is paid to the cultural and humanitarian content of the dialogue (without it, Turkmens can not do with any negotiations, agreements, meetings, etc.) Heads of banks, industrial enterprises and companies, which were members of the delegation along with representatives of St. Petersburg authorities, organized a presentation of projects that could be implemented in Turkmenistan in the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. What the local entrepreneurs liked and what they did not (given the pragmatic nature of the head of the Turkmen business community), will not be known right away. But Dadayev does not like to save profitable projects in the long run. So in the short term it will be possible to understand how promising are the proposals from the banks of the Neva for the country as a whole, and Turkmen entrepreneurs in particular. In Ashgabat, a lot of Turkmen-Petersburg meetings took place at the profile level: it is expected that there can be a breakthrough where there is an opportunity to establish direct contacts between the departments of the two countries. In any case, there is potential, and it needs to be realized. Since it is beneficial for all - two countries, businessmen, and, most importantly, as stated during the meetings - two fraternal peoples. As far as the national traditions: there was not yet one official visitor to Turkmenistan, who would not express his admiration for the beauty of the white marble Ashgabat.
